The Congregationalists built a white brick church building in 1855.
The new stone church building was erected in 1892 at a cost of $32,433.39. The beautiful stain glass windows cost $1,600.00. The sanctuary was remodeled and the south side addition was added in 1958. An elevator was installed in 1985.
An unusual feature of the 1892 church building is the stain glass "Pioneer Windows" which feature a large center section depicting John Eliot speaking with the indians. John was known as the "Apostle to the Indians" and published the first Bible in America in the Algonquin Indian language in 1663.
Additional church windows include the names of Owosso's early pioneers, including as A.L. and B.O. Williams, Lucius Beach, A.B. Chipman, Col. E. Gould, Charles Goodhue, J. Hartwell, E. Barnes, I. Chipman, Dr. J. Barnes, Amos Gould, Luther Comstock, M.N. Tillotson, E. Salisbury, James Stuart, Ira Merrill, Gilbert Doane and David Stewart.
An excellent history of the Congregational Church can be found in the booklet, Owosso Sesquicentennial Area Church Histories 1839 - 1986.
