Charlotte, NC
This Brown Street Clock (owned by Jim VanOrsdel) was re-installed at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, NC.
The cast-iron clock is about 14 feet tall with 36" milk-glass dials on two sides and made by the Brown Street Clock Co. The dials are back-lite at night. Once a week, the clock has to be wound with a crank, for it is a double-weight-driven pendulum-regulated style clock inside of the key-locked base.
The City provided the needed wiring to the clock and footings. The dedication of this clock was on July 13, 1990.
